OutandaboutinChigasaki

Took the long way here this time, via Guangzhou China. Had a 3 hour stop over which was alleviated by sitting in the Priority Pass Lounge. Yes, actually we found one this time, 2 min walk from our departure gate from Guangzhou to Haneda, Japan. China Southern, were absolutely fine and we both rested quite well overnight on the flight. Landed at Tokyo International Airport, usually we fly into Narita, then Narita Expeess (NEX) to Ofuna then JR to Chigasaki. Matt was waiting at our arrival gate. Was absolutely wonderful to see him again.we caught a train across to Yokohama and then joined the JR line to Chigasaki. Really easy and about 1/10 the cost of NEX. So this would also work for Tokyo as a destination, just something to remember.

Excited we were to catch up with Chie, Ryosuke and Fumichan. After a lovely dinner we were definitely ready for bed. We carried some of Matts Lego across this time again ( brining it in lots), Ryosuke was pretty excited to have more retro ’80s Lego to add to his collection.

The last day or so we have been helping around the house with the kids, some cooking, (Friday night pizza nite here in Chigasaki also). Today we had the kids and a friend of Ryosuke’s from International School (Little Starfish) for the day. Chie is working at the cafe and Matt went to the communal office space in Chigasaki to work for the day, taking the opportunity to be child free. Suffice to say, we passed, our test as grandee minders and plus one. Tonight I’m cooking dinner, my world famous Risotto!

The flowers around the area are in full bloom, with Azalea (trees!) being the standout. Although the Iris and Tulips are also beautiful . A good time of year to visit.
